rita RITA BANERJI

Rita heads Dusty Foot Productions, incidentally it is her dusty feet that inspired the name of our company ‘dusty foot’! A wildlife – environment filmmaker and cameraperson, with over 15 years of experience Rita has produced, directed and filmed many award winning documentaries and television programs.

Rita has been a core team member of several award-winning films. Amongst these have been ‘The Last Migration’ – the first film from Asia to win the ‘Green Oscar’ at Wildscreen Festival, 1994, and Shores of Silence – Whale Sharks in India, which not only won the ‘Green Oscar’ in Wildscreen 2000, but also went on to put the whale shark in the Wildlife Protection Act of India. From Sept. 1999 to April 2001 she was the producer for ‘Earth Matters’ an award-winning environment series that was telecast on Doordarshan, India’s national television network. At Wildscreen 2000 she was one of the 4 editors worldwide invited as a panelist for the Wildscreen Edit Challenge (Wildscreen is one of most prestigious international wildlife and environment film festivals). As a cameraperson Rita’s work has been diverse from documentaries of different genres, news ( Australian Broadcasting Corporation) and reality shows for television – National Geographic India, Discovery, AXN, BBC World Trust, MTV, Channel V, Doordarshan amongst others.

Rita sees the video camera as a great tool for creating dialogue on conervation at the grassroots and is in the process of starting conservation workshops and video training at a village in the northeast of india.

Rita loves sports, listening to music, travelling, reading graphic novels and drinking tea!

shilpi SHILPI SHARMA

Shilpi grew up hoping to be a wildlife filmmaker and is quite pleasantly surprised to be living her dream. A partner at Dusty Foot Productions, she has spent more than ten years now working on documentaries and television programs related to environment and wildlife. Shilpi’s strength lies in her incredible ability to visualise concepts in an out of the box manner. This applies across her various skills ranging from editing to design work – giving it an edge that makes it stand out. Shilpi handles the editing for all the key Dusty Foot Projects.

Currently, Shilpi is exploring underwater filming and is in the process of training as an underwater cameraperson. She is a College of Art, Delhi, graduate and is multi skilled as a cameraperson, editor and graphic designer, amongst many many other things!!!

imrana IMRANA KHAN

Imrana joined Dusty Foot in 2007 and in these two years has become a core part of the Dusty Foot team. Imrana manages all the production and coordination for the Dusty Foot Projects. She is also training as a cameraperson – editor and has already made a considerable headway.

Recently her short film “Rasiya” (done during a short film course) was screened in student film festivals across Delhi.

An enthusiastic learner with an always ‘can do’ attitude and a huge smile Imrana brings in with her an immense positive energy. Imran loves watching Bollywood films and dreams of being an entrepreneur.
